Hyperion-Mesh2D is a general purpose meshing tool used to generated Hex Brick meshes. Mesh2D by its name, generate a single lamina type mesh that is composed of 3D hexahedral brick elements. Mesh2D works by reading in a standard Windows bitmap file and extracting the pixel content. Mesh2D applies selection algorithms to extract the active content of the bitmap picture. The user can select one of two schemes to process the pixel content: either a NOT(null) color (by default, white) or ACTIVE pixel color. Once this is processed, Mesh2D creates the lamina HEX mesh for the active area colored on the bitmap and gives the user instant visual feedback on the mesh construction dynamics.

One of unique features of Mesh2D is the ability to obtain instant feedback on the mesh design process. In Mesh2D the mesh is displayed to the user as 2 slider bars are draged to dynamically altering the X and Y mesh density. As the user drags these bars, the mesh is dynamically computed in Mesh2D and displayed on the screen, real time. This provides a much needed feedback for the user to help in designing meshs. The following animation shows the evolution of the mesh. This animation was constructed with the AVI tool, Rhea - PMA.

NEW!
Mesh2D has been modified to export the hex mesh in several neutral file formats, TFS, TAS and Nastran BDF
Mesh2D is perhaps the fastest and easiest to use meshing tool on the block. You can create a 100,000 HexBrick mesh of a complex object in about 10 seconds. The final object is actually a 3D single lamina HEX mesh.
